Lowest ever temperature on the surface of the Earth – minus 91.2 degrees Celsius recoded by scientists in the Antarctic

A new world record for the lowest temperature on the surface of the Earth – minus 91.2 degrees Celsius – was recorded by the scientists in Antarctica near the Japanese station “Dome Fuji.”

This was reported on Sunday by the British newspaper on “Sunday Times”. Previous planetary record – minus 89.2 degrees Celsius – was recorded in 1983 at the Russian Antarctic station “Vostok”. Amongst the stations located around the icy continent, Station “Dome Fuji” is located at the highest peak, at an altitude of 3786 meters above sea level.
