The Ministry of Health for the Canary Islands has activated Ebola Protocols after a Male from Sierra Leone left the Island of Tenerife on October 8 and returned to the Island Of Tenerife on October 12 complaining of a high fever.
The unnamed Male was transported from his home in Tenerife to the University Hospital in Candelaria, where he is now in isolation. The analysis of the patients blood will be done in Madrid and the results are expected within 24 hours.
The Canarian Government is asking for calm within the population of the Island and is stressing that the reasons for the fever have to be determined first, and the results will determine how to proceed, if necessary with the clinical management of this situation.
A press conference is to be held today at 16.00 hours on both television and radio to address the population of the present facts.
